# Belarusian citizens in Poland: travel documents and MOS tips

Belarusian citizens living in Poland can apply for a Polish travel document for foreigners on easier terms, and the period for filing such applications has been extended to 31 December 2026. Residence permits themselves follow the standard MOS rules.**Short answer.**If you use a mail.ru address, MOS messages to it are blocked as spam. Register your MOS account with an e-mail address from another provider. **On this page**1. [Polish travel document for foreigners](#doc)

## Polish travel document for foreigners

Since 1 July 2023, citizens of Belarus can get a Polish travel document for foreigners on special terms (art. 252a of the Act on Foreigners). You qualify if all of this applies: you have lost your travel document, it was destroyed or expired, or you never had one; you have been granted a permanent residence permit, an EU long-term resident permit or a temporary residence permit (or protection on humanitarian grounds); and you file the application within the period set by the Minister of the Interior. That period has been extended several times, most recently by a regulation of 16 June 2026 (in force from 1 July 2026) until **31 December 2026**.

The document is valid for one year and the fee is 350 zł. It does not release you from the duty to obtain a passport, except for documents issued under this special rule.

## Use an e-mail address outside mail.ru

According to MOS (notice of 8 May 2026), the mail.ru domain treats e-mails from MOS as spam and does not deliver them. MOS recommends addresses from other domains so that you receive notifications about your case.

## Residence permits

For residence permits the standard rules apply: MOS portal, personal signature, separate payment of stamp duty and the 100 zł card fee. See our guides on the [temporary residence and work permit](https://mypermit.pl/en/guides/temporary-residence-and-work-permit.html), [permanent residence](https://mypermit.pl/en/guides/permanent-residence-permit.html) and [EU long-term resident permit](https://mypermit.pl/en/guides/eu-long-term-resident-permit.html). **Not legal advice**This page explains formalities.
